The Big Reveal: Refurbished Desk
“Before”
So here it is…the “new” desk! Sorry the pics aren’t very well lit…I don’t have very much natural light in my office thanks to a big beautiful oak tree right outside my window!
“After”
I will give you a bit of a DIY background to the process. I started by stripping and sanding the desk. Then I painted it black. I ended up having to coat it twice because the wood soaked the first coat right up.

Then came the fun part…The decoupaging! I found this great red and off-white wrapping paper at a discount store. I cut the paper a little larger than each drawer face. I painted the back of it with Modge Podge, and attached it to the drawer. I folded the edges of the excess paper on the backside of the drawer face, and then painted on two more coats of Modge Podge to finish the drawers. I let it all dry over night and voila! It looks great and I am beyond excited to finally have a workspace.
Thanks to Barb at Knack Studios for the decoupaging tips. She was a great big help, and such an inspiration.
