Grandma Color Palette: Box Monster

I am feeling kind of muted today, so I this week’s color palette is following my mood…a visual muted-ness (there I go, makin’ up new words again). Any whoo, this color palette is called Box Monster by _stefan. I would totally be feeling this in my perfect room, in my perfect house. My perfect room would be a reading room. Of course, if I had a reading room, I would have to have the time to read, but one thing at a time. What I am seeing now when I am looking around my perfect reading room is the walls, ceiling and trim painted in these lovely warm beigey colors. They remind me of my Gramma Dougal. She was wonderfully beige. Beige leather purse, beige nail color, beige skin color…Like I said before – wonderfully beige.

As far as furniture goes in my most lovely reading room, I see a chaise lounge chair in this fantastic peacock blue color. A pillow rests on it, covered in the fabulous blue-green color. It is embellished with silvery-gold beading to compliment the warmth of the beige walls. There are loads of books in built in bookshelves. The bookshelves are painted in the medium beige color. The back panel of the bookshelves are painted in the peacock blue color. Oh wait…maybe they have a wallpaper covering the back…A nice damask pattern in the peacock blue drifting on a background of the lightest beige color in our palette. These bright colors remind me of my Grandma Shockley. She looked lovely in bright colors and wore them a lot. She also had the most fabulous collection of vintage costume jewelry. She always had on colorful earrings and a broach to match. My granny was a classy, but fun broad.

There a light beige sheers covering the many windows, because I love reading by a lovely large window with lots of light. So, as you can see, a Grandma Color Palette is not a bad thing…It can be quite lovely!

Thursday Toodles, lemonheads!
