Terrific Tuesdays: Cookies in a Jar DIY Gift

Yea! It’s Tuesday…Of course that means…Terrific Tuesdays! First of all, I must tell you not to forget to vote today. Whether you are a Dem or Repub, you must do your civic duty.

Now, having said that, today’s post is about one of my favorite things in the world. Gramma cookies! My grandmother made the best cookies, and she always had some in her freezer when we came over to her house. I thought that a great DIY Christmas or even hostess gift for the holidays would be layered Gramma cookie mix in a jar. Even if you don’t give the gift, download the recipe below, and make the cookies yourself. They are a light wonderful buttery deliciousness that is out of this world.

Gather your Ingredients

First you need to gather your ingredients. You will need chopped pecans, shredded coconut, a butter cake mix, and a cool jar, around 64 oz. in capacity.

Take your jar, and pour the cake mix into it…

Add the pecans…

Finish off with the coconut.

Now, print off one of these cute tags. I had to create two, because I couldn’t pick between two very clever quotes about cookies. The first is: “A balanced diet is a cookie in each hand.” The second is: “Think what a better world it would be if we all, the whole world, had cookies and milk about three o’clock every afternoon and then lay down on our blankets for a nap.” – Robert Fulghum
