Question for You: To Melamine or Not?

Hello all you lovely lemonheads out there in internet world! I hope you are all having a wonderful day.

I have a question for you today…Have any of you purchased any of the super cute melamine ware from Plum Party (or any where else?). I absolutely love the bold patterns that French Bull has used on their storage containers…

So, my question is, what do you think about tableware made of melamine? Is this melamine safe? Does it last or is it a throw-away item after a season?

It is so cute and incredible affordable (for example the colander above is just $21). Does anyone out there in bloggy land have any of these pieces and if so, will you share with us about your pieces? Do you like them? What can you tell us about it?

Thanks in advance for helping solve my condundrum, lemonheads!

  • I was reading about melamine yesterday (in wedding planning books) and it appears to be totally safe, but I would not recommend getting rid of it after a season. At least no via the trash, LOL. The downside seems to be that they can get stained by foods easier than other dishes.

  • I used to have a bunch of melamine and I loved it for eating outdoor but it did stain and scratch easily. We’re kind of hard on dishes though.

  • Thanks so much for the feedback ladies…This is really giving me things to think about!
