Terrific Tuesdays: What do I do with my herbs now?
So lemonheads, I am posing a question to you…What do we do now that our herbs in our portable herb garden? Today I am going to show you…Time to harvest some herbs!
First, clip your herbs. Give your herb plants a good haircut. Make sure to cut your stems right above a leaf joint.

Once you have all of your herbs cut, take them inside and wash them in a bath of cool water.

Rinse your herbs after their bath and lay them out on a dry towel. Let the herbs dry thoroughly.

(Woohoo, look at my harvest!)

Next gather your herbs in bunches and secure with a wire, ribbon or rubber band. I clip my bunches to a coat hanger.

Put your bunches in a closet or other cool dark spot. Make sure they are fully dry and no moisture in left in the leaves. (Sorry this pic is so dark, but well…it’s a closet.)

It will take a few weeks for the leaves to completely dry out. Once they are dry, you can store them in air tight containers (on or off the stem).
Now you have dried herbs to use all winter when you don’t have fresh herbs. Cool, right?

Hope this helps!
