Sweet Color Palette and Pattern: Gran’s Eyeshadow
So, I was cruising around ColourLovers.com the other day and this pattern just stopped me in my tracks. It is called pleasure to burn by paperdancer.

I quickly made a color palette to go with it that I named Gran’s eyeshadow…I did it ’cause, y’all, it looked just like what my gran’s eyeshadow looked like. She loved all of these muted neutral pinks, so the memories just flew over me. I was thinking about sitting at her make up table where she had all her fun lipsticks, eye shadows and perfumes. She used to let me play there for hours, and of course she didn’t care what I got into just as long as I was having a good time.
I think this would make the best color palette for a card design…I can’t wait to use it.
It amazes me how our mind’s relate memories to colors we see, things we hear or fragrances we smell. I was walking around the other day and smelled Old Spice. That reminds me of early mornings with my grandfather in Vicksburg, Mississippi. He would splash on that Old Spice and then we would cook breakfast and feed the birds. We had such good times.
Do certain colors remind you of days in your past? I would love to know your favorite memory!
This will be the last post for the week, lemonheads… I am hoping to go make some new memories with family and friends. Have a great holiday weekend!
