Lemony Fresh Etsy Seller: Audrey and Grace

Something I don’t feature a lot in this series is apparel shops…Why? I have no idea. Maybe it is because I don’t see things that stand out among the crowd. That in no way describes today’s featured seller. Lesha of Audrey and Grace on Etsy creates beautiful vintage reproductions of fabulous dresses that Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly would wear on a daily basis. I love all things Audrey, so I was immediately drawn to her creations. I am sure that you will agree that her designs are OH. SO. FAB.

Kelly: Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started making apparel?

Lesha:
I am a Savannah, GA native and an art school grad. I majored in Architecture but have always had a passion to design clothes. I have been sewing since I was a little girl. Also, I have always loved fabric!

Kelly: Can you tell us a your vintage style and why you are drawn to it?

Lesha:
My style is very 1950s sassy/sophisticated. I love to straddle the fence between vixen and debutante:-) My style icons are Audrey Hepburn and Grace Kelly. I get a much of my inspiration from watching old movies. Women seemed so effortlessly glamourous in those days! My clothes are designed to be fabulous and easy at the same time. The idea is to look very well put together and yet low maintenance like an Audrey or Grace.

Kelly: What are your favorite things about creating your pieces?

Lesha:
My favorite thing about creating is the satisfaction that I get from making my customers feel gorgeous. I love it when someone drops me a note about how pretty they felt in their dress.

Kelly: What made you want to turn your art into a business?

Lesha:
I love designing and creating! I find that I am not very happy doing any other kind of profession so I figured that I had better make this work as a business. I am very blessed that things have been going well enough for me to keep my sewing machine humming most of the day:)
