My Favorite Artist: Charley Harper

Happy Terrific Tuesday, lemonheads! Today I am going to share with you one of my favorite illustrators, Charley Harper. Mr. Harper died in 2007, but his art lives on vibrantly.  He was a commercial illustrator for most of his career, but he is most famous for his wildlife pieces.

I really like his style which he called “minimal realism.” All of his art is a collaboration of different shapes, lines and colors.

I have an affinity for birds, so that is probably why Mr. Harper’s cardinals are my favorite pieces of all of his art.

Mr. Harper was most popular for his wildlife pieces, but don’t think that is all he did. Here is a really neat underwater scene. Fabulous!

So, now you know who my favorite artist is…Who is yours?
