Happy Easter!
The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Matthew 28: 5 & 6
Put yourself in Mary Magdalene and Mary’s place…They are walking early in the morning when the dew is still wet, heartbroken over what they have seen earlier in the week, the crucifixion of their Lord Jesus Christ. Even if they weren’t at the tomb yet, they probably felt the “violent earthquake” that the Bible speaks of…Then, they arrive at his tomb, and the stone at the entrance of the cave has been moved. Talk about confusion! Next, much to their surprise, they see an angel of the Lord whose appearance “was like lightning.” Take a second to marvel over that…That must have been fantastic to see!
On top of all that, the angel tells them that the man they saw crucified just a couple of days before was no longer in the tomb, but had risen…What a feeling of praise, confusion and surprise must have been running through their minds!
Today is such as special day for me as a Christian.I hope that you all have a wonderful day celebrating the greatest miracle of all, the death and rising of my Lord Jesus Christ. Praise his name!
