A few weeks ago, my husband and I canoed the Buffalo River near Hohenwald, Tennessee. I was able to take a few pictures on our journey down the river…

Ahh…So relaxing.

Just beautiful.

These stone cliffs on the side of the river were stunning. They had really beautiful vegetation growing all over them. Little springs would drip water into the river too.

I have never caught a small mouth bass before and this river is famous for them. So we did a little fishing and look what I caught!

Of course I released him back into fish world.

I can’t wait to go back on another trip…Can you see why?

Record Store Day at Grimey's in Nashville

Hi all you lemonheads! Hope you are having a wonderful Monday. Just a quick post to show you a bit of what I did this weekend. The hubster and I decided to go to Nashville for a little weekend getaway. I even left my computer at home…This is a big shock to the system, but it was great just to enjoy each other’s company.

Anyway, the main reason to go to Nashville was to check out our favorite band, The Avett Brothers at Record Store Day at Grimey’s. Grimey’s is a great little record store that sells new and pre-loved music of all sorts. There were so many people there that we really didn’t have room and time to do much looking, but we will go back for sure.

Record Store Day is an all day party to promote record stores and the coolness that they are and offer. Don’t forget to shop your local record stores…We want them to be around for a long time!

We just walked around Broadway and downtown Nashville the rest of the weekend in Nashville and enjoyed each other’s company. We definitely want to go back soon (hopefully when the Grand Ole Opry is at The Ryman Auditorium). Have you been to Nashville? If so, what do you recommend?

I eluded to sharing some of our Christmas pictures earlier, but now you have been warned…These are pretty gruesome! My brother thought it would be great to get his wife a set of “Bubba” teeth for her stocking. Well, it turned out to be a present for all of us! We have a ball with them. See…

Hi Lemonheads! How was your weekend? I hope it was great.

Purple Lemon Hubby took me out to take pictures on Pickwick Lake in the top corner of Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee last weekend. I thought for a little Monday morning shot in the arm, I would share some of the fall lovelies with you. Also, if you are so inclined, you can download the desktop wallpaper I made out of one of my photos.

These are my favorite finds of the day. I think I will use some of the ornaments as inspiration for my 08 holiday card line.

This weekend, my mother-in-law and I visited a portion of the 127 Corridor Sale, otherwise known as “The World’s Longest Yard Sale.” Running along the Highway 127 Corridor, this sale spans 630 miles and five states. It starts in Gadsden, Alabama, and runs to Defiance, Ohio. The sale starts on Thursday and ends on Sunday.

We started bright and early Saturday morning in Gadsden, Alabama. We arrived at the 127 Corridor, and it was very crowded. So we decided to bypass Gadsden’s yard sale areas, and drive on up the corridor. We first stopped in Collinsville, AL. They had great stuff to look at and to purchase. I am a sucker for vintage costume jewelry, so the 127 Sale was just for me. A very sweet lady in Collinsville had cases and cases of costume jewelry…I was in heaven! I finally settled on two pieces that I will be sharing with you guys tomorrow. We looked at antiques, handbags, Tupperware and everything else they had in Collinsville…We had a great time! Finally, we got back in the car and headed to our next stop, Mentone, Alabama.

In Mentone, we stopped and had another look at some antique glass and china, hand-thrown pottery, and some other fun knick knacks. We also had a yummy lunch at the beautiful Mentone Springs Hotel.

After lunch, we shopped a bit more (more vintage costume jewelry!), and then started on our way again. We didn’t stop at any more of the yard sale, but we did stop on Lookout Mountain at a quilt store and made a purchase.

On our way home, we stopped in Chattanooga, Tennessee, at a little antiques mall. I purchased some vintage Christmas ornaments that reminded me of an old ornament my mom had from when she was a little girl. I’ll show these to you tomorrow as well.

I would recommend a trip to The Longest Yard Sale to anyone who is into finding one-of-a-kind treasures. I think next year, though, we will probably start in Kentucky or Northern Tennessee and come down. We want to make sure we are able to see as much of the route as possible.
